چکیده
Paper mills generate large quantities of wastewater and sludge waste depending on the type paper making processes employed. This poses several problems regarding treatment, discharge, disposal. Whenever is generated, it should be treated in treatment plants prior to being released environment since can polluting dangerous. A study was conducted at Star Mills Ltd. Saharanpur, UP demonstrate existing advanced technologies for treatment. The mill uses woody raw materials such as eucalyptus, poplar, veener chips manufacture a wide range industrial cultural grade papers, absorbent kraft, maplitho, azure lay, copier. We observed that most common excess back water from machines, bleach plant effluent, floor cleaning, other sources wastewater. High chemical oxygen demand (COD), biochemical (BOD), low biodegradability are all characteristics pulp Approximately 85–90% fresh utilized wasted. examined collected evaluated by Central Pulp Research Institute (CPPRI). Effluent (ETP) sufficient facilitate satisfactory removal suspended matter clarifiers oxidation biodegradable organic aeration tank. As fact, if ETP operated under optimal conditions, capacity effectively treat even higher BOD loads than load.

The application of advanced oxidation technologies to the treatment of effluents from the pulp and paper industry: a review.
The paper industry is adopting zero liquid effluent technologies to reduce freshwater use and meet environmental regulations, which implies closure of water circuits and the progressive accumulation of pollutants that must be removed before water reuse and final wastewater discharge. The traditional water treatment technologies that are used in paper mills (such as dissolved air flotation or bi...

The use of conventional water and wastewater treatment processes becomes increasingly challenged with the identification of more and more contaminants, rapid growth of population and industrial activities, and diminishing availability of water resources. Three emerging treatment technologies, including membrane filtration, advanced oxidation processes (AOPs), and UV irradiation, hold great prom...

This paper presents an overview of different modelling and simulation (M & S) methods used in water treatment. Special emphasis is on pulp and paper industry. In chemical water treatment, M & S is successfully used in control design. Hybrid models based on a cascade approach are needed in biological wastewater treatment to cover different operating conditions. Uncertainty handling needs to be i...

growing the water consuming and shortage of available fresh water resources, make “effluent reuse” an unavoidable issue in industry for supplying a part of needs for required water. on the other hand, increment in the production of paper products from wood and recycling their consumed products which release pollutants to the environment has increased the environmental concerns. thus, in present...
